Thousands Gather for Spectacular Carnevale Parade Along Venice’s Canal Grande

Venice came alive with the vibrant spirit of Carnevale as thousands of people gathered along the Canal Grande to witness a dazzling parade. Leading the annual water parade was the “Pantegana,” a giant boat shaped like a mouse.

The official opening of Carnevale was marked by colorful clouds of confetti and balloons, setting the festive tone for the carnival celebrations that will continue until February 13th in the lagoon city. “There is so much joy in the air, people want to have fun and, above all, respect the city,” said Mayor Luigi Brugnaro to the Associated Press.
