Peace March: Landini against wars, call for diplomacy and peacebuilding
A significant peace march titled “Let’s Stop the Wars” took place in Rome, with the participation of numerous individuals including the general secretary of Cgil, Maurizio Landini. The demonstration, which traversed the streets of the Capital from Porta San Paolo to the Colosseum, was organized as part of the national mobilization “Let’s Stop the Wars, the Time for Peace is Now”.
During the march, the Communist Front and the Communist Youth Front displayed a banner with the inscription “Lebanon, Ukraine, Palestine. Born assassin”, while posters depicting Crosetto, Meloni, Bonelli, and Schlein labeled as “warmongers” with handprints of blood were shown.
Maurizio Landini emphasized the importance of stopping the wars, immediately ending the conflicts, and convening a peace conference. He highlighted that war is causing an increase in inflation and urged governments to give voice to those calling for an end to violence and to stop those committing massacres, with a particular reference to the actions of the Netanyahu government in Israel.
Landini expressed concern about the consequences of Israel’s actions, stating that they are not only harmful to the Palestinian people but also suicidal for the Israeli people. He reiterated the importance of building peace day by day, through the involvement of politics and governmental choices in this direction.
In Milan, a thousand people gathered in a peace demonstration, with a banner reading “Italy out of the war, stop the genocide”. The square in front of Central Station was the meeting place to express support for peace and condemn genocide, in a context of active participation against violence and for the construction of a more peaceful world.
