A week after narrowly escaping death in the attack on stage in Michigan, former President of the United States, Donald Trump, returned to his old rhetoric during a rally in the state. Trump resumed attacks and insults against his political opponents, continuing to denounce alleged electoral fraud, raising alarms on immigration, and expressing admiration for authoritarian leaders.

During his speech, Trump praised Xi Jinping, calling him “a brilliant man who governs firmly over 1.4 billion people,” comparing Joe Biden to a “child” in comparison. He also shared that he received a “beautiful letter” from Xi after the attack he suffered. Trump also praised Vladimir Putin and Viktor Orban, calling them both “intelligent, strong” and emphasizing their love for their country, regardless of ideology. He highlighted having a good relationship with both leaders.
