The champion Tadej Pogacar triumphs in the 15th stage of the Tour de France

Tadej Pogacar has conquered the 15th stage of the Tour de France, a challenging route of 197.7 km from Loudenvielle to Plateau de Beille. Wearing the prestigious yellow jersey, Pogacar was the only one to respond to the attack of his rival Jonas Vingegaard, taking the lead about 5 km from the finish line and creating a significant gap. The Danish rider finished in second place, over a minute (1’07”) behind the outstanding Slovenian, increasingly solid in the overall classification.
The third step of the podium was taken by Remco Evenepoel, who crossed the finish line 2’51” behind the winner, followed by his teammate Mikel Landa in fourth place with a gap of 3’54”. The other contenders lost ground, with Visma-Lease a Bike nullifying the day’s breakaway and with Richard Carapaz holding on until the end. Giulio Ciccone struggled on the final climb, finishing thirteenth, 6’29” behind Pogacar. In the general classification, the leader of UAE Team Emirates increases his lead over Vingegaard, now 3’09” behind, while Evenepoel slips to 5’19”. The Tour de France will pause for the second rest day, resuming on Tuesday with a flat stage of 188 km from Gruissan to Nimes.
