President Biden addresses nation following Trump’s assassination attempt

The day after the assassination attempt on Donald Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania, President Joe Biden held a press conference directly from the White House. The American president announced that he will deliver a national address tonight, speaking more extensively from the Oval Office. President Biden is scheduled to speak at 8 pm Washington time, which is 2 am in Italy.
Biden: “Brief and Pleasant Conversation with Trump”
“Last night, I spoke with Donald Trump. I am sincerely grateful that he is well and recovering. We had a brief but pleasant conversation,” said Joe Biden. “There is no place in America for this kind of violence, or any violence,” continued Biden, who then expressed his deepest condolences to the family of the victim. “An assassination attempt goes against everything we stand for as a nation. Everything. It is not who we are as a nation. It is not America. And we cannot allow this to happen.”
“Donald Trump, as a former president and Republican Party candidate, has already received an increase in security measures,” Biden stated, adding that he has instructed the Secret Service to review all security measures for the upcoming Republican National Convention starting tomorrow in Milwaukee. “We must come together as one nation,” was the concluding message delivered during the press conference.
